Forced to shut down the Terence Cardinal Healthcare Centre’s boilers during the 2009-2010 winter season due to age and over-usage, the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act grant couldn’t have come at a better time. The Centre needed new boilers to provide heat and hot water to all of its residences but was hesitant about shelling out nearly $2.5 million to replace the older ones.
